Exploring Awen in AODA Druidry – October 23 – 8:00 – 10:00pm Eastern Time
With Alisha Jondreau, Archdruid of Air and Bardic Adept, and Dana O’Driscoll, Grand Archdruid and Ollave Adept
Awen is a central concept in druidry—it is not only represented in the symbol of our tradition but also invoked as a chant in our ceremonies. But what exactly is the Awen? How do you work with it as part of your practice and everyday life? In this workshop, we will explore the Awen from a few different angles—considering the role of Awen as a creative force, the Awen in the historical druid tradition, and also, what recent research shares about Awen and flow states. In the second half of the workshop will offer a series of short Awen invoking Awen exercises for participants to try out to help cultivate the Awen in their lives. For the workshop portion, please bring your bardic tools-your pen, your paint, your musical instruments, your clay, your body, whatever inspires you!
Super disappointed to miss this. I’ll be at the opening evening of an art retreat, so no way to sneak off for a bit. I do hope you’ll do a bit of video or share handouts. Or both!
I wanted to come to this so much, and not just for the content it covered, which I found quite interesting. I also wanted to connect with other Druids since I am isolated where I live from like minds. I even set three alarms for 745pm that evening. But, as things were, I had caught a cold and was asleep by 7pm. I hope you host another one sometime in the future. I’m glad to hear stories of everyone else take so much away from it.
Sorry you could not attend–but we have more workshops. We offer workshops each quarter (except the Summer Quarter)! Hope to see you at a workshop in the future.
