Ritual for career path

Would any of you have a ritual or prayer that can help heal or serve a career/ education path?
I have a goal around this : here is the specifics - it is very smart goal and I love it - I have been “exploring for sometime” and things that I “thought “ were a fit didn’t pan out . So a ritual or a blessing or a prayer with be great . Even the SOP .
Thank you and blessed be !

This is a very large ask. It rather sounds like you’re trying to get the universe to just give you what you want. If you pray, you need to establish a relationship with a deity first, before you ask for favors. If you use magic, you would need to be quite skilled to bring such an event about.

You certainly could use the SOP, with invoking the qualities you want and banishing obstacles or failure or some such in an appropriate way for each element–but again, this is a big, specific ask.

Have you assessed your relevant skills and the jobs available?

Speaking strictly from my own experience and your mileage may vary, a ritual or prayer that is zeroed in on something as specific as your SMART goal is unlikely to succeed because while your goal is very specific, you aren’t working a change upon yourself, and in my experience, changing yourself is the most effective way to use ritual/magic/prayer to make a significant change. SMART goals are good for mundane goal setting – they can certainly provide you with a sense of direction. But in my experience, I don’t find the gods or the universe is very concerned with our SMART goals, although they seem willing to work with us on efforts around changing ourselves.

Consider instead a working that helps you to have increased awareness to the opportunities available to you. Or a ritual to create a willingness to find and accept the role that gets you to your SMART goal over a different timeline. You may need a working that helps you be more adaptable to the situation you find yourself presently in. If you use astrological influences in your ritual, consider working with Jupiter who is well-situated presently, but be aware that Mercury is going retrograde this week and you will need to revise/reconsider actions and choices over the next few weeks.

I once did a working to change my career path. I spent 3 nights in ritual and prayer, focused on developing awareness of new opportunities, and cultivating the willingness to leave my present role and accept the consequences of job change and the chaos that always creates. My spellwork involved nothing more elaborate than incense, a white candle, and deeply sincere prayers offered over a specific astrologically-favorable window when Jupiter was particularly benefic in relation to my Sun and also trining Mercury. Without oversharing a successful working, I did achieve my goal and it came about very unexpectedly, with a good deal of anxiety in the process, but once things settled out, I was a better person for the experience and I had a fancy new job title by the end.

TL;DR, use ritual and magic to change your internal processes and it will help you achieve those external specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound goals.

Hi Stephen, I think the advice you’ve gotten here is very sound!

If you wanted to use the SOP, you could focus it in a career direction, bringing in the qualities that will land you a solid career (determination, clarity, passion, endurance, etc) and banishing the qualities that could harm your career prospects (lack of focus, nervousness, etc). You can do an SOP with this kind of focus before you do an interview to help you perform better. The SOP can certainly be adapted towards your needs!.

All magic works best when we are working both on the inner and outer. You can do all the spellwork in the world, but if you aren’t making changes in the mundane world to ensure that reality comes into being, its not going to pan out. So think about the interplay between those two things. Best of luck in your new career path!

Hey everyone,

I wanted to circle back on this—it’s been a couple of months since I first posted, and I wanted to do the work before just saying, “Oh, this is working.”

When I first brought this up, it was really about improving both my inner and outer world—making real changes, not just talking about them. I know SMART goals can sound odd to people who are more spiritually focused, but for me, having clear steps feels important. It’s like a dance—you can’t just say you’re a dancer without learning the choreography. You can’t just “banish” things without doing the groundwork.

Fisher, you mentioned relevant skills—and yes, I’ve assessed mine carefully and applied for roles that felt meaningful. I’ve also learned a lot about where communication styles didn’t click, which actually strengthened my own sense of protection and clarity. If something doesn’t work out, I see that as guidance rather than failure—there’s a reason behind it.

Some people have said the universe doesn’t care about SMART goals or our timelines. I don’t see it that way. I think that’s a strange perspective—and I’m curious about it—but to me it’s clear the universe collaborates with us, bringing meaningful, purposeful things and people into our lives at the right time. If you’re unsure what that looks like, just notice how moving an animal from one place to another can help or hinder it, or how plants grow on their own timelines. They grow little by little because of sun and nutrients—mundane things, yes, but still powerful. And when they’re nurtured, they grow into something big and towering. A vision with clear goals and even timeline can work the same way.

What I’ve really learned over these past few weeks is to accept where I am—and move forward from there. Protection work, spellcraft, all of that is helpful, but I still have to do the inner work myself. I’ve been doing that consistently and it’s been really grounding.

Thank you all for your input—it’s been so valuable. I’ll keep at it and update you as I go. Bonne chance to all of you as well in your own paths.

Talk soon,
Stephen
