Solar Currents: AODA Monthly Astrological Overview with Robert Pacitti (Oct 2, Nov 6, and Dec 4 – 8:15-9:45pm Eastern)

Come join us on the first Thursday of every month for a welcoming and enriching exploration of the cosmic weather ahead. Hosted by Robert Pacitti, professional astrologer and Grand Pendragon of the Ancient Order of Druids in America, these sessions will highlight the major astrological transits of the month, explore how they may influence our personal signs, and offer a touch of astrological and astronomical teachings to deepen understanding.

Solar Currents will also be a space for open conversation. Astrologers of all backgrounds and modalities are invited to share brief insights, making each session a tapestry of perspectives and wisdom. Whether you’re just beginning your astrological journey or have years of experience, you’ll find community, insight, and inspiration here.

While it would be helpful to have a copy of your astrological chart, or know your Sun, Moon, and Ascendant signs, no astrology experience is necessary to fully take part in these events. We will be holding true to our “no politics in public forums” policy for these sessions, and will be focusing on the personal and spiritual experience. While these sessions are hosted by the Ancient Order of Druids in America, all are welcome!

I plan to be on the call but I have a committee meeting with my Master Naturalist Chapter that is supposed to run from 7-8pm and typically runs long. Will people still be allowed to join the call after the formal start time? As a regular meeting organizer, I fully understand why we wouldn’t let late joiners in (it’s distracting and difficult for the meeting host to manage if they are also speaking!), but I wanted to confirm. I hope to be on and hear what Robert has to say. Thank you for offering this! :green_heart:

I’ll be late getting on too, but I do hope to join in progress.

I wish I could attend! I have class then. Looks like a fabulous presentation. I hope to watch it later on if it is recorded!

I would also watch it later if recorded, but the time difference is a bit of a struggle. Maybe there are other Europeans in that boat?

Thanks for the reminder, see you there.

Hi everyone! It was a great time for those that could make it. For those that could not, Rob has posted the video of his presentation (but not the discussion afterward).

Brilliant - thanks so much!

I would love to attend again. I learned quite a bit on the 4th, and have been studying since. I am excited to share what I have learned next discussion and gain more insight into this craft as I believe it aligns quite well with my Druid cosmology. I would like to be a member every 1st Thursday if you’ll have me.

I so enjoyed the Monthly overview seminar with the Grand Pendragon…I now have a new interest and path to follow…I would like to share a summary of a book I read on the subject, The Picatrix, and was hoping for some feedback on the Order’s opinion of its teachings.

Picatrix Liber Atratus: Books 3 and 4 is a comprehensive guide to medieval astrology and magic, providing a detailed exploration of the principles and practices of ancient wisdom as alluded to in the seminar. I should note that this book is the second part of the complete Picatrix Liber Atratus edition, building upon the foundations established in the first part.

This book is divided into two main sections, each corresponding to one of the original books of Picatrix. Book 3 focuses on the principles of astrology, while Book 4 delves into the realm of magical practices and spiritual growth.

Book 3: Astrological Principles
This section of the book provides an in-depth exploration of astrological principles, which was the basis for the questions I asked at the seminar, including the nature of the planets, their relationships, and their influence on human affairs. Herein was presented a detailed analysis of the celestial bodies, their characteristics, and their roles in shaping individual destinies, and I also use the website Resources - Honeycomb Collective as a base reference.

Key takeaways from Book 3 include:

  1. The importance of understanding planetary relationships. It emphasizes the significance of grasping the complex interactions between planets and their impact on human lives. As was eloquently explained during the seminar, thank you.
  2. The concept of planetary dignities: The book explains how planets exert their influence through various dignities, such as rulership, exaltation, and detriment. I am currently studying the effects of Ogham divination regarding this phenomenon.
  3. The role of astrological aspects: It discusses the different types of aspects, including conjunctions, oppositions, and squares, and their effects on individual lives.

Book 4: Magical Practices and Spiritual Growth
This section of the book delves into the realm of magical practices, providing guidance on how to harness the power of astrology for personal growth and spiritual development. The text presents a range of techniques and rituals for cultivating spiritual awareness, manifesting desires, and overcoming challenges.
Key takeaways from Book 4 include:

  1. The importance of spiritual purification: I understood the need for spiritual purification as a prerequisite for effective magical practice.
  2. The role of talismans and amulets: The book explains how to create and use talismans and amulets to attract positive energies and manifest desires. I believe wholeheartedly in ritual and ceremony, so this section appealed to me on a different level.
  3. The power of invocation and evocation: There was guidance on how to invoke and evoke celestial entities, spirits for personal growth and magical purposes.

Practical Applications and Key Lessons
Throughout the book, I was provided numerous practical examples and exercises to help me apply the principles and practices of astrology and magic in my daily life.

Key lessons from the book include:

  1. The importance of self-awareness and introspection: Emphasizing the need for self-awareness and introspection in understanding my astrological profile and magical potential.
  2. The power of intention and visualization: The book highlights the importance of clear intention and visualization in manifesting desires and achieving magical results. As a ritualist and meditation practitioner, I see this as extremely important.
  3. The need for patience and perseverance: success through the importance of patience and perseverance in achieving spiritual growth and magical mastery is key.

Conclusion
I found the text to be a comprehensive and authoritative guide to medieval astrology and magic. The book provides a detailed exploration of astrological principles, magical practices, and spiritual growth, offering a wealth of practical advice and guidance. By applying some of the principles and practices outlined in this book, I believe I can gain a deeper understanding of myself and the world around me and cultivate the skills and knowledge necessary for personal growth and magical mastery. A more experienced and perhaps wiser opinion could weigh in?

Hello everyone! Just a reminder that Solar Currents is happening again tomorrow evening!

Thank you, this sounds great, but joining is difficult because I’m on European time zones.

Hello,

I was hoping to find out if there will be anymore of these forums. I thoroughly enjoyed attending and found the wisdom fascinating.
